Hey Guys, I have recently seen a lot of people asking how to get a blue tick on Facebook next to their Business Facebook page. Don’t worry, I figured out the secret… and the best bit? It will take under 5 minutes and is completely free.
What You Will Need:
- A Facebook business page. (Need help with this? Contact me, and I’ll help you set it up).
- Access to a phone
- One of these documents (Business utility or phone bill, business licence, business tax file, certification of information, or articles of incorporation).
- 5 Minutes
Okay, I agree, the badge looks nice – but that’s not the reason you need to do this. You need to verify your page to increase the likeliness that your page will show on Facebook search – and to improve the ranking.
Like with SEO, the pages with the most authority get the higher ranking.
If you want more visitors, when competing with the thousands of other pages of your niche – it is imperative that you show highest in the search.
The badge also makes your page look more professional/authoritative.
It’s worth noting that there are two types of badges – blue, and grey.
The grey is given to all businesses to improve their search ranking and make them more authoritative. The blue badge, on the other hand, is only available to eligible brands, public figures, and media organisations that are approached by Facebook.
To verify your page, follow the following steps:
- Click “Settings” at the top of your business page.
- From the “General” tab, click “Page Verification”.
- Click “Verify this Page”.
When you click “Verify this Page”, a window will pop up asking that you enter your phone number. Once you click “Call me Now”, you will get an automated call with a code for you to enter.
Enter your code into the “verification” box shown above. If Facebook recognises your phone number – verification complete. Alternatively, if they don’t, you will need to continue the steps below.
If Facebook isn’t able to recognise your phone number, don’t worry – this happened to me as well. To fix this, upload one of the accepted official documents. You can upload any of these documents for verification:
- A Business Utility or Phone Bill
- Business License
- Business Tax File
- Certificate of Formation
- Articles of Incorporation
Once you upload one of these documents, click “Send Document”. Facebook will review your documents, and if the document is approved – your account will now be verified.
So, there it is. How to quickly and easily verify your Facebook page in under 5 minutes.
